The Spanish node of GBIF has released online its annual training plan (e-learning and classroom), covering various aspects in biodiversity informatics, data management and use in the context of the GBIF network. The courses are about data quality, new features of the GBIF portal, biodiversity database and GenBanks, ecological niche modelling, data recording for technical in natural history collections, cybertaxonomy tools, georeferencing natural history specimens using GEOlocate, training course on persistent identifiers, publication of species information, collection management using Herbar/Zoorbar and autonomous e-learning course “From data publication to scientific papers publication (data papers)”.
The next course is the fifth workshop on data quality in biodiversity databases in e-learning mode, which takes place from 19 February to 5 March. The registration is possible until January 27.
Currently there is only available detailed information and registration open for three workshops, but through the portal of the Spanish node of GBIF can access the new dates for the courses. The registration is possible for Portuguese participants and should be held directly to the Spanish node of GBIF as details given in the pages of the courses.
