Symposium: Using GBIF to Mainstream Biodiversity in Governments, the Private Sector, and Society

As part of the GBIF Governing Board 31 program, BIOPOLIS organises the symposium "Using GBIF to mainstream biodiversity in governments, the private sector, and society" on Wednesday, 02 October 2024. It will take place at the Campus de Vairão, Auditório CIBIO, Vairão, Vila do Conde, starting at 9:30h, local time. The attendance to the symposium is open and free to all the community, either in person, or virtual.

This annual programme aims to foster innovative research and investigation in biodiversity informatics by graduate students whose master’s and doctoral studies rely on GBIF-mediated data. The deadline for submissions at national level is May 31th 2024.

Advanced training in biodiversity data mobilization in Cabo Verde

 

TROPIBIO, the Technical University of the Atlantic, GBIF Portugal, and the Higher Institute of Agronomy presents the Advanced training in biodiversity data mobilization in Cabo Verde. The course took place from July 11 to July 15, 2022 in the Institute of Engineering and Marine Sciences, Technical University of the Atlantic,   Campus da Ribeira de Julião, São Vicente, Cabo Verde.

O Desafio Ebbe Nielsen 2022 foi lançado pelo GBIF com o objectivo de destacar e reconhecer submissões inovadoras que promovam os dados e ferramentas sobre biodiversidade, que favoreçam o avanço da ciência aberta. Um júri de especialistas avaliará as submissões em relação à componente de dados, código ou ciência aberta, e reproducibilidade, relevância e novidade. As candidaturas vencedoras serão premiadas com um valor total até 20 000,00 €.
