Citizen Science Portal publishes through GBIF occurrences of Invasive Plants in Portugal

In the last month of December the GBIF Portuguese Node performed the national roadmap of seminars GBIF Information Day, which was attended by 159 participants from 26 different institutions, including universities and research institutions, ICNF (the national nature conservation and forests agency), regional and local administration, private companies, NGOs and aquariums.

É também referido o projeto conjunto entre Índia e Noruega na obtenção de dados de Biodiversidade e é referida também a conferência dos padrões de informação de biodiversidade bem como a conferência COP-12 e os seus resultados.
Is it now open the call for nominations for the 2015 GBIF Young Researchers Award, which will highlight innovative research, developed by students in master's or doctoral studies in the field of Biodiversity Informatics. The two prizes will be awarded with a money prize of 4 000€ each.
It is now available the registration for the Ebbe Nielsen GBIF challenge that replaces the usual Ebbe Nielsen award. This challenge aims to inspire scientists, informatics, data modelers, cartographers and other specialists to innovate and create new applications in the area of free access to biodiversity data in a competition for a 1st prize of 20 000€ and 2nd prize of 5 000€.
The GBIF node has just published through its IPT service the Checklist of Portuguese Flora with information about 3994 taxa, including establishmet means and emdemins status. Data are available through the IPT service of the Portuguese Node of GBIF and through the international GBIF portal.
The National Museum of Natural History and Science (MUHNAC), of the University of Lisbon, Portugal has recently published the Checklist of Bryophytes of Portugal with 704 occurrences in a total of 704 taxa. The data are available on the IPT service of MUHNAC and through the international GBIF portal.

The Portuguese Node of GBIF promotes during December 2014, the roadmap of seminars GBIF Information Day, with the aim of familiarizing the participants with the resources of biodiversity information, data, software and protocols published through GBIF.

Estas melhorias fornecem conhecimentos sobre o volume e o conteúdo de dados mediados através do GBIF e oferecem informações ricas sobre como parceiros nacionais podem organizar as suas redes de informação sobre biodiversidade.
The Portuguese Node of GBIF participated at last 14-16 October at the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle in Paris in the third and final meeting of the mentoring project between France, Portugal and Spain, with the aim of exchanging experiences and expertise among the different nodes.
