Nominations for the 2014 Young Researchers prize

GBIF has opened the call for nominations for the Young Researchers Awards 2014 that will highlight innovative research work developed by students in master or doctoral programs, in the field of Biodiversity Informatics. The prize will value the use of primary data published through GBIF. Two prizes will be awarded, one for master's students and one for PhD students in the amount of 4,000€ each. Applications will be received by the Portuguese Node of GBIF for selection of candidates, to be proposed to the GBIF Governing Board. Students must have citizenship of a GBIF voting or associated country.
 
 
Applications must meet the requirements and guidelines detailed in the attached document. The deadline for submission of applications is April 30, 2014. Applications should be submitted by email to info@gbif.pt. GBIF is the Global Biodiversity Information System, and publishes, in free and open access through the Internet, more than 430 million records of biodiversity. Portugal is a member of GBIF since its foundation in 2001, and Brazil also part of this infrastructure since October 2012.
