Rui Figueira Node Manager Biologist, born in Madeira, Portugal, in 1969, he is Associate Researcher of Instituto Superior de Agronomia since August 2015. He graduated in Biology by the University of Lisbon in 1992, earned his MSc in Georesources by the Instituto Superior Técnico in 1996 and his PhD in Biology by the University of Lisbon in 2002. He was Associate Researcher at the Tropical Research Institute between 2008 and 2015, where he was biocurator of the biological databases of IICT. Develops research in biodiversity informatics and on species’ distribution modelling, with integration of ecological niche modelling, geostatistics and multivariate data analysis.
